Translated to English the name Sømmet means "the Nail" - and it will nail those big trout. This in-line lure is a perfect long casting lure and one of the all-time favorites among hardcore sea trout anglers in parts of Scandinavia. It might look like a nail, but in the water it's a great imitation of a sand eel - perhaps the most important prey for big sea trout hunting in shallow water.
Rigging tip: Run your line through the lure and use a small round or oval bead to protect the knot before tying the line to a single- or treble hook of your choice. If you prefer a free swinging hook we recommend mounting the hook on an oval split ring and tying the knot to the double-stranded part of the ring.

Le tout premier leurre Westin Fishing a été conçu par Ingvar Westin, fondateur de la marque et fabricant d’outils à l’époque. Il voulait, à l’origine, concevoir un jouet pour son fils. Pour cela, il a sculpté un premier exemplaire, et lorsqu’Ingvar et son fils l’ont plongé dans l’eau pour la première fois, ils ont été stupéfaits par son rolling et sa nage. Ce premier leurre ressemblant fortement à un leurre à brochet surdimensionné, ils ont décidé de le baptiser « Jatte » – mot suédois dont la traduction veut dire « géant ». Le Jatte était né, tout comme le fameux et inégalé à ce jour « Westin Roll ». Bien qu’il n’ait à l’origine créé qu’un jouet, Ingvar était une personne animée par la passion et la perfection. En très peu de temps de nombreux pêcheurs Scandinaves ont remarqué les propriétés et le rolling exceptionnel du Jatte. Victime de son succès, les meilleurs guides de pêche locaux l’ont très vite considéré comme « LE » leurre à brochet pour la traque des gros spécimens, irrésistible, parfaitement équilibré, tout simplement une référence…. Les specimens hunters locaux habitant à Skutskar proche de Gavle, ont demandé à Ingvar de créer de plus en plus d’exemplaires du Jatte, déclinés dans un panel de couleurs s’étoffant de jour en jour. L’utilisant dans les lacs, rivières de la région et eaux saumâtres de la mer Baltique, il a permis la capture d’innombrables brochets records. Rapidement, Ingvar fût assaillit de demandes et passait l’intégralité de ses journées à fabriquer d’avantages d’exemplaires afin de satisfaire la demande exponentielle! Le record à l’époque, fût un brochet de plus de 20kg dans l‘archipel de Norrtajle (1977). La légende du Jatte était née de même que sa réputation de leurre à « specimens ». Depuis ce temps, le Jatte a permis de tromper les plus gros et les plus méfiants brochets de Suède. Ayant
